After the Call: Support for First Responders – for Leaders

Description

This program explores mental health and resilience for First Responders in the context of the unique nature of their daily work. Program participants will build an understanding of mental health and wellbeing, along with challenges to it in the workplace context, such as stigma and First Responder workplace stressors, including exposure to trauma. Participants will explore practices to support resilience in this context, and delve into the role of the People Leader in creating a supportive environment to help mitigate the impact of workplace stress and to enable support when a team member needs it. The workshop supports leaders in developing practical tools to support themselves and their teams

Structure

Both full-day and half-day programs explore key content areas relevant to First Responder workplaces, including:

  • Stigma
  • Responses to Trauma, including PTSD
  • Resilience
  • Providing Support

The full-day version provides additional opportunities to practice, role-play, share knowledge, explore leadership tools and to create an action plan for the team.
