Description

The impact of frequent exposure to stressful situations including working with vulnerable populations in crisis or exposed to traumatic events can build up over time. Designed to support employees who work in ‘high impact’ roles routinely exposed to situations which cause a real or perceived threat to emotional and physical well-being, this workshop invites participants to explore the physical, emotional, and professional impacts of cumulative stress and vicarious trauma. This highly interactive workshop provides participants the opportunity to discuss how stigma can interfere with employees on “high exposure teams” from seeking support, as well as to practice 5 solution focused strategies that promote self-care and resilience.

Structure

Workplace Learning workshops go beyond awareness, and allow participants to practice and engage with the topic. Facilitated in small groups, participants can expect learning activities like small-group discussion, breakout rooms, role-play, scenario-based learning – as well as more standard elements like Q&A, polling and chat functionality.
